Wang,
a
South China
tiger cub, finds his carefree life in the forest turned upside
down when poachers capture his mother. He escapes into the forest
and soon becomes lost.
Lee,
the poacher’s son, along with his best friend Tai (a rare golden
monkey) secretly follows his father and witnesses the hunt. Lee
spots Wang as he escapes and follows him into the forest.
Wang is visited by the spirit of the Blue Tiger who instructs him
to undertake a journey to the mythical animal sanctuary known as
Bi An Dun. The cub is joined on his adventure by an Australian
cassowary called Cass, and an English pine marten known as the
professor.
In this delightful tale, fantasy, adventure and humour are
cleverly interwoven with the very serious issues of endangered
species and the destruction of their habitats.
As a bedtime story for younger children read by parents or
guardians, or for intermediate readers, children can expect to
learn an important conservation message, vital for the next
generation.
