It never ceases to amaze me how little people know about the South China tiger, but don't feel too bad; you're not alone.  

The South China tiger (SCT) is believed to be the antecedent of all tigers, but with only around sixty living in Chinese zoos (yes you read that right, SIXTY!) and none being spotted in the wild for over twenty years, it is not only the oldest and most important subspecies of tiger, but it is also the most endangered. (See Articles).

What is The Tiger Chase?  Apart from being the first novel ever to revolve around the serious plight of the South China tiger, the shocking facts regarding not only the SCT but all endangered species, such as poaching, loss of habitat and the illegal use of endangered animal derivatives in traditional Chinese medicines, are interwoven in a dynamic sometimes hilarious plot with memorable characters, and presented as an entertaining work of fiction with an important conservation message.
